Netflix Unveils Holiday Release Schedule With ‘Sugar Rush Christmas,’ ‘The Princess Switch’ Sequel and More

Halloween may still be weeks away, but Netflix is already done with the pumpkin spice and candy corn — they’re ready to cook up some hot chocolate and string the lights around the tree. The streaming platform released their annual festive lineup today packed with shows and movies to help ring in the holiday. Looks like Hallmark and Lifetime have got some competition this year.

The official holiday schedule includes a few returning favorites and plenty of new seasonal picks, and it all kicks off later this month on Oct. 28 with Holidatea new Emma Roberts holiday rom-com about an unlucky-in-love single woman who meets her perfect match. But November is when the titles really begin to roll in, with original series like Überweihnachten and Dash & Lily kicking off the start of the month.

Also premiering in November are two sequels to some Netflix holiday favorites. After the success of 2018’s The Princess SwitchVanessa Hudgens is back for another film with The Princess Switch: Switched, Again premiering Nov. 19, which follows Duchess Margaret and her double Princess Stacy of Belgravia, but throws in a third look-alike with Margaret’s party girl cousin, Fiona. Netflix is also gifting us a second Christmas Chronicles film with The Christmas Chronicles: Part Two, which brings back Kurt Russell and Goldie Hawn for another seasonal adventure on Nov. 25.

Netflix has plenty more in store in the next couple months, with documentaries like Dance Dreams: Hot Chocolate Nutcracker, musical films like Dolly Parton’s Christmas on the Square, and seasonal cooking shows like Sugar Rush Christmas and The Great British Baking Show: Holidays to inspire holiday bakers. There’s even a whole lineup of kids shows for younger viewers, including Alien Xmas and A Go! Go! Cory Carson Christmas.

With so many titles to choose from, it’s easy to get excited about the holiday schedule now, but we’ve still got a couple weeks to go until the first release. In the meantime, Netflix’s Halloween lineup is still going strong.
