Dorinda Medley and Tinsley Mortimer are out, and Eboni K. Williams is in. After dropping two housewives from last season, The Real Housewives of New York City has found a replacement with Williams, its first Black cast member, Entertainment Weekly reports.
Williams will be joining Luann de Lesseps, Ramona Singer, Leah McSweeney, and Sonja Morgan for Season 13 of Bravo‘s reality hit, which is already in production. “NYC is filled with successful and dynamic Black women,” she said in a statement. “I’m excited to join this legendary franchise as the first Black housewife. Can’t wait to share a slice of life in this city that hasn’t been seen before. Anyone who’s aware of my work knows I don’t hold back. I’m going to keep it just as real here as I do everywhere else.”
The latest New York City housewife is no stranger to TV. Williams previously co-hosted FOX News Specialists and contributed to multiple other shows on the network, including Lou Dobbs Tonight, The Five and Outnumbered. After leaving Fox in 2018, she turned to radio, hosting a talk show on WABC Radio in New York City, according to TMZ, which first reported the news. She currently co-hosts State of the Culture on Revolt TV, a network founded by P. Diddy.
Before venturing into the world of TV and radio, Williams earned her law degree from Loyola University New Orleans College of Law, specializing in family law and civil litigation, and later clerked for Louisiana’s Secretary of State and the Louisiana Attorney General. She’s also the author of a 2017 book titled “Pretty Powerful: Appearance, Substance & Success.”
While Bravo was searching for its latest New York City addition, they also filmed some footage with Bershan Shaw, an actress and motivational speaker who previously appeared on OWN’s Love In the City. Ultimately, the network decided to choose Williams, but TMZ reports that Shaw may still appear in some Season 13 episodes.
