Lindsay Lohan, Rachel McAdams and More Recreate Classic ‘Mean Girls’ Phone Call Scene

If you’re a fan of Tina Fey‘s comedy Mean Girls, you likely have a favorite scene from the 2004 high school masterpiece, whether its Regina’s (Rachel McAdams) invitation for Cady (Lindsay Lohan) to sit with the Plastics for the first time, the “Jingle Bell Rock” dance routine at the talent show, or the candy cane grams scene that sends Gretchen (Lacey Chabert) into her Brutus and Caesar meltdown.

Point is, the movie and its iconic screenplay have rightfully earned their place in the early aughts canon — and there’s one scene from Mean Girls that truly captures high school drama circa 2004: the Plastics’ four-way phone call. Although it’s been over 15 years since we first saw the scene, who can forget the classic line, “Boo, you whore?” Thankfully, we got to relive it all with a recreation courtesy of the Plastics themselves. McAdams, Lohan, Chabert and Amanda Seyfried virtually came together for a Mean Girls reunion and shared their own recreation of the phone scene on Instagram earlier today, ET Canada reports.

Lohan shared the video, which combines footage from the original film with the actresses reading the lines from their own homes. And just like in the movie, Cady and Regina begin the call gossiping about Gretchen, who we soon learn is also on the line, listening quietly.

Once Regina hangs up, Gretchen gets Karen (Seyfried) on the line with her and Cady, telling her that Regina called her “such a slut.” Throughout the whole scene, Lohan can be seen trying to suppress a smile as her former costars deliver their lines in character. The whole scene ends with McAdams and her character saying the final line in unison: “Boo, you whore,” and the ladies hanging up.

One thing not included in the original film? A call for voting. The phone call clip ends with a message to vote in the upcoming presidential election on Nov. 3. Watch the full Mean Girls scene above in the post from Lohan’s account.
