Is ‘Aquamarine’ on Disney+?

Aquamarine first made a splash on our screens in the spring of 2006, introducing us to a the titular mermaid washed ashore (Sara Paxton) and two best friends, Claire (Emma Roberts) and Hailey (JoJo), ready to help her on her quest for true love. The film follows the unlikely trio during the last few days of summer, as Aquamarine tries to catch lifeguard Raymond (Jake McDorman) and prove that true love exists so she doesn’t have to endure a loveless marriage when she returns home.

The girls hatch a plan to set up Raymond and Aquamarine, but between the mermaid’s lack of social skills on land and a mean girl nemesis named Cecilia (Arielle Kebbel) who also has eyes for lifeguard, it’s tricker than they imagined. But it’ll be all worth it in the end if they find Aquamarine her love and get a wish granted of their own: to keep Hailey in town so she doesn’t have to move to Australia at the end of the summer.

Even though the film is over a decade old now, it’s remained popular over the years, especially among the Gen Z crowd, who’ve flooded TikTok with plenty of content dedicated to the film and some of its most iconic scenes (who could forget those starfish earrings?)
