A ‘Hocus Pocus’ Reunion Is Bringing Bette Midler, Kathy Najimy, and Sarah Jessica Parker Back Together

Children, prepare to run amuck (amok? amuk?) this All Hallows Eve (technically All Hallows Eve Eve) because the one silver lining of 2020 is upon us: A Hocus Pocus reunion featuring Bette Midler, Sarah Jessica Parker, and Kathy Najimy will be streaming on Friday, October 30.

The event, billed as In Search of The Sanderson Sisters: A Hocus Pocus Hulaween Takeover, is basically a dream come true for those of us raised on late ’80s-early ’90s pop culture. Why is that, you ask? The reunion will be hosted by none other than Elvira, Mistress of the Dark. Actor Cassandra Peterson created the campy, buxom TV hostess character in 1981 and she’ll… exhume it… for this special event. Second of all, as stated above, we’re finally getting to see Winnie, Sarah and Mary Sanderson back in action. And not only are our three favorite witches being summoned via Zoom, but Hocus Pocus stars Thora Birch, Doug Jones, and Omri Katz will also be a part of the event.

The event is a charity fundraiser for the New York Restoration Project, the foundation started by Midler to maintain and sustain public spaces throughout New York City. The show, an annual tradition that’s normally held live in New York City, will stream on October 30 and feature not just the Hocus Pocus cast reunion but a parade of other incredible stars, from Meryl Streep and Glenn Close to Billy Crystal and Jennifer Hudson. There is, of course, one minor catch in all of this: Tickets start at $650 and run all the way up to $70,000 to view on your laptop screen.

Midler teased the event with a photo posted to her Instagram account this weekend, writing “Your 3 fav witches – @sarahjessicaparker @kathynajimy & ME – are returning for 1 night only on 10/30 at 8p ET! “In Search of the Sanderson Sisters” is the best thing to happen to #Halloween since Hocus Pocus + Reeses Pieces.”

Fans of the now-cult classic rightfully went nuts in the comments, as we did too before noting the price tag.

[UPDATE: While the higher-priced tickets were available for early pre-sale, there are now $10 tickets for sale on the NYRP site.]

In case you’d rather spend your Halloween-based charitable giving on UNICEF, Hocus Pocus is streaming on Disney+ and is also airing on Freeform throughout the month of October.

This post has been updated to reflect current ticket pricing.
