When Will ‘Unsolved Mysteries’ Volume 3 Arrive on Netflix?

Forget Jason Voorhees and Freddy Krueger. The scariest Halloween stream is Unsolved Mysteries.

Volume 2 of this true-crime trailblazer recently debuted on Netflix, providing fans with six additional episodes of intriguing mysteries to obsess over. If you’ve already streamed the new episodes, Decider recently covered Episode 1 (“Washington Insider Murder”) and Episode 5 (“The Lady in the Lake”).

The current batch of episodes are known as “Volume 2” and are considered to be the second half of Season 1. The next batch of episodes will technically be “Volume 3” or the first half of Season 2, but since the majority of streamers online are referring to potential episodes as Season 3, we’re going to use that term going forward. Again, the next batch of episodes will technically be “Volume 3” or the first half of Season 2.

When does Unsolved Mysteries return with new episodes? Here’s everything we know so far.

I’d personally go with “House of Terror,” “Mystery on the Rooftop,” and “Missing Witness” as my top three.

HAS UNSOLVED MYSTERIES BEEN RENEWED FOR SEASON 3?

*** UPDATE (9/1/21) Yes! Per Deadline, Netflix renewed Unsolved Mysteries for a third set of episodes. The series is set to return in the summer of 2022. ***

Nope. Not yet. But based on the critical success and massive popularity of the series, we fully expect Netflix to renew Unsolved Mysteries for Season 3. The good news is that Unsolved Mysteries co-creator Terry Dunn Meurer has the desire to produce more episodes.

“We have ideas,” the producer told Newsweek when asked about a new season. “We have some really great stories that we feel are strong stories. So, we are ready to tackle that.”

WHEN WILL UNSOLVED MYSTERIES SEASON 3 BE ON NETFLIX?

*** UPDATE (9/21/22): Unsolved Mysteries Volume 3 debuts October 18, 2022 on Netflix. *** 

Unfortunately, it’s going to be a while.

Netflix has yet to make an official announcement regarding the show’s future. Dunn Meurer noted in her Newsweek interview that production on Season 1 began in early 2019, with the series premiering on Netflix in July of 2020. With those dates in mind, we expect new episodes of Unsolved Mysteries to premiere on Netflix in mid-to-late 2021. But it’s very possible that COVID-related production delays could push the series to 2022.
