Maisie Williams Dark Comedy ‘Two Weeks to Live’ Heads to HBO Max

Game of Thrones star Maisie Williams is expanding her HBO empire. HBO Max has acquired exclusive U.S. streaming rights to Two Weeks to Live, a British dark comedy starring the young actress and Fleabag‘s Sian Clifford. All six episodes of the critically acclaimed limited series will stream November 5 on HBO Max.

Two Weeks to Live first debuted on British network Sky in early September to rave reviews from critics. The dark comedy stars Williams, in her first television role since Game of Thrones, as Kim Noakes, an odd young woman who sets out for revenge after her father is murdered. Kim’s father died when she was just a child, prompting her doomsday-prepping mother to whisk her away to live in the wilderness, but now, as an adult, she leaves her isolated bubble to track down her father’s killer. With the help of her brothers, Nicky (Mawaan Rizwan) and Jay (Taheen Modak), Kim embarks on a comedic tale of love and revenge.

In addition to Williams, Rizwan, and Modak, Two Weeks to Live stars BAFTA winner and Emmy nominee Sian Clifford as Tina, Kim’s mother; and Kerry Howard as Beth, Thalissa Teixeira as Thompson, and Jason Flemyng as Brooks, a series of characters Kim meets along her chaotic journey.

The six-part limited series is was created by Gaby Hull (We Hunt Together, The Dark Mile) and executive produced by Phil Temple (The Last Kingdom, Code 404). Charlotte Surtees also serves as a producer. All six episodes of Two Weeks to Live were directed by Al Campbell.

Maisie Williams’ first Game of Thrones follow-up — let’s not count the long-gestating The New Mutants, which was filmed in 2017, when the HBO epic was still running — debuts Thursday, November 5 on HBO Max in the United States.
