‘Stay Close’ Coming to Netflix: What We Know About the Harlan Coben Adaptation

Yet another Harlan Coben book is heading to Netflix. The team behind The Stranger and Safe are reuniting for Stay Close, a drama adaptation based on Coben’s New York Times bestselling novel of the same name. The Stay Close Harlan Coben adaptation is the latest project in the author’s five-year deal with Netflix, under which he will adapt 14 (!) of his books into films and TV shows.

WHAT IS THE STAY CLOSE HARLAN COBEN SERIES ABOUT?

According to VarietyStay Close will hew closely to the plot of Harlan Coben’s novel, with the major difference being that the drama will shift from the U.S. to the U.K. The eight-part series follows three characters as their dark secrets bubble to the surface, setting off a dangerous chain of events that threatens to destroy them all.

WHO IS IN THE STAY CLOSE NETFLIX CAST?

Cush Jumbo (The Good Fight), James Nesbitt (The Missing), and Richard Armitage (The Stranger) are slated to play the three central roles in Netflix’s Stay Close adaptation. Sarah Parish (Bancroft) is also joining the cast in a supporting role.

HARLAN COBEN NETFLIX DEAL: WHO ELSE IS INVOLVED?

While each Harlan Coben Netflix project is different, the same team has worked behind the scenes on many of his series. Like The Stranger, Safe, and The Five, Studiocanal’s Red Production Company will produce. Nicola Shindler and Richard Fee will serve as executive producers alongside Coben and Danny Brocklehurts, who will also lead the writers’ room.
