Is Clare Getting Engaged Tonight on ‘The Bachelorette’?

We’ve been promised the most unexpected season of The Bachelorette yet, and it looks like we may finally be getting the moment we’ve all been waiting for. ABC is teasing the most dramatic episode of Clare Crawley‘s season yet, after building up to the moment with plenty of steamy scenes with Dale Moss, the man Clare predicted would be her husband from the first time they met on night one.

It’s clear there’s chemistry between Clare and Dale, but is their connection so strong that Clare leaves the rest of the men and quits the show early for Dale? That’s certainly what the rumors swirling around this season are telling us. And with the teaser at the end of last week’s episode, it seems like Clare is ready to pack up her bags and go. Does Clare get engaged tonight on The Bachelorette? Here’s everything we know:

WHAT HAPPENED LAST WEEK ON THE  BACHELORETTE?

Last week, we had another cringe-worthy episode. It all began when Yosef decided to confront Clare about last week’s group date, when she had the guys play strip dodgeball. After telling Clare that she wasn’t a good example for his daughter, and adding, “I can’t believe I sacrificed so much to be here, just to watch this distasteful and classless display,” Clare replied, “Do not ever talk to me like that,” and sent him home after some heated back and forth. Bye, Yosef!

Next up was the rose ceremony, then a cocktail party where Dale and Clare retreated to her room for nearly an hour while the rest of the men sat outside stewing (Dale, of course, got the rose). Then came a one-on-one gone wrong with Zach, who was sent home after a very uncomfortable kiss misunderstanding. The guys gathered again for a roast with Margaret Cho for the second group date, where most of the men piled onto Dale and took turns hurling insults at him. Clare later confronted some of the men at that night’s cocktail party, trying to figure out why they were treating Dale the way they had. The group date ended without a rose ceremony, and the episode wrapped.

DOES CLARE GET ENGAGED ON THE BACHELORETTE?

It does sound like she may be engaged already, although we won’t know for sure until the episode airs. But the way ABC is teasing next week’s episode, there may be a big sparkly ring featured. The official description of next week’s episode reads: “Chris Harrison pays Clare a visit and cautions her that her journey cannot continue on its current path, only to have her make a stunning revelation. Chris shares the startling news with the guys that the cocktail party and rose ceremony are canceled. A nervous Clare is about to embark on an unprecedented path to find her happy ending. Will she get her wish or will Dale, the man of her dreams, walk away? Will the other men be left with dashed hopes of a happily ever after with Clare?”

Clare sets up a romantic dinner with Dale, where The Bachelor: Listen to Your Heart winners Chris and Bri serenade the two. And according to ABC, “Everything that occurs next is completely unprecedented.” So, while we don’t know if Dale and Clare make their romance official with an engagement, it sounds like something big happens next episode, regardless.

WHEN DOES TAYSHIA ADAMS BECOME THE BACHELORETTE?

If you watched last week’s episode of The Bachelorette, you’ll know that ABC finally officially introduced Tayshia Adams, a former Bachelor and Bachelor In Paradise competitor and the rumored replacement for Clare once she leaves her season of The Bachelorette. If Clare leaves after next week’s episode, then it would mean that we could see Tayshia take on the Bachelorette duties as soon as Episode 5, which premieres Tuesday, Nov. 10. Of course, we’ll have to keep watching to find out! Episode 4 of The Bachelorette airs on ABC on a special night, next Thursday, Nov. 5 at 8/7c.
