Tiger Woods’ Complicated Career Takes The Spotlight in HBO’s ‘Tiger’ Trailer

HBO is taking a closer look at the complicated career of Tiger Woods for the upcoming doc TigerWe got a first look at the two-part documentary today when HBO dropped a trailer for the project, teasing what looks like an emotional exploration of both the highs and lows of Woods’ time as a professional athlete.

Tiger promises to explore “the rise, fall, and epic comeback” of the golfer in “sweeping scope and vast detail,” per AV Club.  The documentary, which comes from Matthew Heineman and Matthew Hamachek, is based on a Woods biography written by authors Jeff Benedict and Armen Keteyian.

When the film debuts on HBO, we can expect to see some never-before-seen footage, plus interviews with subjects like his former caddy, Steve Williams, and golf’s Sir Nick Faldo. Tiger will also feature Dina Parr and Rachel Uchitel, the woman involved with Woods during his 2009 sex scandal. Uchitel will give her first sit-down interview about her relationship with Woods in the documentary.

Tiger premieres on HBO and HBO Max in January 2021. Watch the full trailer for the documentary in the video above.

Here’s what else you may have missed today:

While Ryan Murphy likes to keep his projects secret, he gave us a little clue about the AHS spinoff American Horror Stories, Collider reports. Murphy revealed a poster for the upcoming anthology series on Twitter and shared the following (sparse) details: “We are doing 16 one hour stand alone episodes delving into horror myths, legends and lore…many of these episodes will feature AHS stars you know and love. More to follow…” We also know the new series will air on FX and FX on Hulu, and it sounds like we’ll be getting some Murphy favorites as series stars.

Casey Wilson is the latest actor to join The Shrink Next Door, TV Line reports. The Apple TV+ series focuses on the relationship between a psychiatrist-to-the-stars and his longtime patient. Wilson will join the eight-episode series as Bonnie, the wife of Dr. Herschkopf (Paul Rudd). The Shrink Next Door already boasts an impressive cast, with Will Ferrell and Kathryn Hahn already signed on to play Martin “Marty” Markowitz and Marty’s sister.
