‘The Walking Dead’ Sets February Premiere for Extended Season 10

The Walking Dead is kicking off 2021 with a brand new batch of Season 10 episodes, and we finally know when they’ll premiere on AMC. The network announced today that the six episodes extending Season 10 will drop Sunday, Feb. 28 at 9/8c. And in even better news, if you subscribe to AMC+, you can get an early look — each episode will premiere early on the network’s streaming bundle, beginning on Thursday, Feb. 25.

Season 10’s newest episodes will feature some exciting additions, including Hilarie Burton Morgan (One Tree Hill), Robert Patrick (Perry Mason) and Okea Eme-Akwari (Cobra Kai). Burton, who is married to Walking Dead star Jeffrey Dean Morgan, will play Lucille, his character Negan’s late wife. Patrick will star as Mays, and Eme-Akwari will play Elijah. More guest stars are also expected to appear in Season 10, but we’ll have to wait until the episodes drop to see who they are.

On last season of The Walking Dead, we left off with the fall of Alpha (Samantha Morton) and saw the Whisperers War come to an end, with Hilltop destroyed and Alexandria abandoned. The survivors, alone and trapped, found the courage to rise up and killing Beta (Ryan Hurst), saving themselves from the horde.

According to AMC, there’s plenty in store for the next installment of Season 10. “In these six new episodes, we find our survivors trying to pick themselves up by their bootstraps following the destruction the Whisperers left in their wake,” the network teased in a press release. “The years of struggle weigh upon them as past traumas surface, exposing their more vulnerable sides. As they question the state of humanity, the state of their collective community, and the states of their minds, will they find the inner strength to persevere with their lives, friendships, and group intact?”
