You won’t have to wait until tonight’s new episode to hear the most exciting Masked Singer news. Today, Fox announced that The Masked Singer would be getting a fifth season as part of its winter Television Critics Association tour. But that’s not all! Fox will be doubling down on its love of masks as judge Ken Jeong and guest judge Joel McHale will host Fox’s all-new New Year’s Eve special.

“I’m so happy to announce a new season of The Masked Singer,” Rob Wade, President of Alternative Entertainment and Specials for Fox Entertainment said via press release provided to Decider. “This show brings joy to so many families across the country, especially during these trying times, and we can’t wait to get even more celebrities suited up in crazy costumes for an hour of pure fun every week.”

It’s no surprise that Fox is all-in on this particular property. The Masked Singer is currently the No. 1 entertainment show on television. This season alone has averaged a 2.5 Most Current rating and 11.5 million multi-platform viewers per episode. Last Thursday’s (November 26) 13.1 million viewers actually led to Fox winning Thanksgiving night for its first time in 10 years.

Fox also released some news about The Masked Singer’s much-anticipated spinoff series, The Masked Dancer. Tubi has announced that the competition series will be joining its lineup. Hosted by Craig Robinson and featuring a group of celebrity panelists that include Jeong, Paula Abdul, Brian Austin Green, and Ashley Tisdale, the series will showcase a series of elaborately masked celebs shaking their tail feathers. Who will be behind these masked moves? And what secrets are they hiding? The game will being Sunday, December 27 at 8/7c p.m.

You may be thinking that another season and a spinoff series would be enough Masked Singer news. And you would be WRONG. The Masked Singer, I Can See Your Voice, and The Masked Dancer judge Ken Jeong and comedian Joel McHale are set to host Fox’s New Year’s Toast and Roast 2021, the working title for Fox’s New Year’s Eve special. Jeong and McHale will dedicate their broadcast time to skewering everything insane and horrible about 2020… So, yeah. Three and a half hours may be too short. The former Community stars and longtime pals’ special will be divided into two parts. Part 1 will air on Thursday, December 31 at 8/7c p.m. The roasting will then pick back up at 11/10c p.m. for Part 2.

“Ken and Joel together are one of the funniest duos out there,” Wade said. “These two have been toasting and roasting each other on national television for years, so they were the perfect pair to ring in the New Year. Also, we love Ken so much, we wanted to squeeze in three more hours of him before the New Year!”
