Hillary and Chelsea Clinton’s ‘Gutsy Women’ Series Lands at Apple TV+

Apple TV+ is welcoming some Gutsy Women into their streaming lineup. The platform announced today that they’ve picked up a new docuseries from Hillary Clinton and her daughter, Chelsea Clinton, based on their best-selling “The Book of Gutsy Women: Favorite Stories of Courage and Resilience.”

The Gutsy Women series, which promises to “spotlight a richly diverse cast of trailblazing women,” will feature Hillary and Chelsea as they search for answers to the question, “what exactly does it take to be a Gutsy Woman?” The former Secretary of State and her daughter will both host and executive produce the series, which comes from their company with Sam Branson, HiddenLight Productions.

“The Book of Gutsy Women: Favorite Stories of Courage and Resilience” debuted in 2019 and spent 10 weeks on the New York Times bestseller list. The book features the stories of women throughout time and across the world, including Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie, Mary Ritter Beard, Harriet Tubman, Edith Windsor, and Malala Yousafzai.

Gutsy Women is just the latest in a running list of TV projects for Secretary Clinton, who earlier this year was the subject of Hulu’s Hillary, a four-part documentary about her history and path to the 2016 presidential nomination. The streamer is currently developing Rodham, an upcoming drama series from The Affair co-creator Sarah Treem, which is based on the hit novel by author Curtis Sittenfeld.

With the Gutsy Women news, Apple TV+ is expanding its docuseries library, which currently includes shows like The Oprah Conversation, Home,  and Dear…, as well as the documentaries Lone Star, Boys State, Beastie Boys Story, Fireball: Visitors from Darker Worlds, and The Elephant Queen.
