‘Cheer’ Star Jerry Harris Hit With More Child Pornography And Sexual Misconduct Charges

Cheer star Jerry Harris has been hit with new federal child pornography charges as well as enticing minors to engage in sexual activity, our sister site New York Post reports. Harris, who appeared in the popular Netflix docuseries, was arrested in September on similar charges, for allegedly luring a 13-year-old boy “to produce sexually explicit videos and photos of himself,” as per a criminal complaint filed in US District Court in Chicago.

According to Friday reports from a US District Court in Illinois, the recent charges include soliciting minors to send sexually explicit photos or videos of themselves, according to the official seven-count indictment. Harris, 21, was one of the stars of Cheer, a docuseries that began streaming on Netflix in January 2020.

The new charges are the result of alleged incidents involving four minors that range from August 2017 to August 2020, according to the indictment. One of the charges accuses Harris of traveling from Texas to Florida with intentions to have sex with a 15-year-old in May 2019.

One of the first lawsuits against Harris in September alleged that he “exploited his popularity and position of fame with young male cheer athletes.” The former athlete’s attorneys have yet to comment on the new charges.
