‘The Office’ Heading to Peacock With First Look at Extended Superfan Episodes

After getting the pink slip at Netflix, The Office is grabbing a cardboard box, cleaning up its desk and shipping off to Peacock. Starting next year, the NBC streaming service will be the exclusive streaming home to all previously released episodes, plus “brand new, never-before-seen content” from The Office, Peacock announced today.

Along with the 200-plus episodes of The Office, Peacock will also treat Dunder Mifflin fanatics to a collection of Superfan Episodes “that include never-before-seen footage and deleted scenes in extended cuts of the original series.” The special episodes begin with Season 3, and more are expected to drop in March. Peacock shared a first look at one of the episodes today, showing Michael’s (Steve Carell) trip to Ryan’s (B.J. Novak) business school class where he attempts to justify the company’s impact on the environment by explaining that they use recyclable toilet paper.

We’ll be getting some behind-the-scenes footage, too, including “bloopers, featurettes, and interviews,” and Peacock will organize The Office episodes in curated themed episode collections, like the Scranton branch holiday parties and favorite appearances by guest visitors. Fans can also look forward to a collection of clip playlists to remember pranks between Jim (John Krasinski) and Dwight (Rainn Wilson), best office romances featuring plenty of Jim and Pam (Jenna Fisher), and “office words of wisdom” from Michael.

Peacock comes in three tiers: Peacock TV free, which offers a limited content collection but is free to watch; Peacock Premium ($4.99 per month or $50 per year), an ad-supported version that offers the full Peacock library; and Peacock Premium Plus ($9.99 per month or $100 per year), which offers the full library without any commercials.

When The Office premieres on Peacock, the first two seasons will be available to watch for free, but Seasons 3-9 and the collection of Superfan Episodes will be available only through Peacock Premium and Peacock Premium Plus.

The Office premieres on Peacock Jan. 1, 2021. Watch the first look at the superfan episode in the video above.
