Callie (Lauren Swickard) toils away on her California farm, just trying to keep everything afloat. Looking for a promotion, charming businessman Joseph (Josh Swickard) treks all the way out to find Callie and convince her to sell her land. In order to win her trust, Joseph pretends to be a ranch hand, slowly persuading her to fess up the plot of land. But in his attempts to coax her, he may just fall in love with her instead.

Where was A California Christmas filmed?

The title doesn’t lie! A California Christmas was filmed in Petaluma, California, a scenic town just north of San Francisco in Sonoma County. For the majority of the film, the cast shot on location at star and executive producer Ali Afshar’s childhood home. They also shot around the area, like at the Hotel Petaluma.

A California Christmas was one of the first film sets to return after the major industry-wide shutdown caused by the pandemic. They began filming in early July, getting clearance from Petaluma officials to work on set. With Afshar’s home as the location and a real-life couple playing the lead stars, A California Christmas ensured a safe set.
