Times Square will look a lot different this New Year’s Eve. The streets will be empty of screaming, freezing revelers—with no access to the annual countdown and ball drop. Yet, all is not lost. You can still watch all the fun on the NBC’s New Year’s Eve special, which will be based in NYC, while broadcasting a line-up of musical guests from across the country into the wee hours of 2021.

Carson Daly will return as the host of the show in Times Square, which will mark his 16^th year since he left MTV in 2002, along with Amber Ruffin, star of Peacock’s The Amber Ruffin Show and DJ “tWitch” Boss as co-hosts.

NBC’s New Year’s Eve kicks off on Thursday, from 10-11 ET/PT, will break for local news and return for the countdown of the Times Square ball drop from 11:30 to 12:30 AM ET/PT.

In NYC, Carson Daly will be joined in his hosting duties by Amber Ruffin, star of Peacock’s The Amber Ruffin Show and DJ “tWitch” Boss.

Performances, however, will happen live from around the country, featuring artists like Busta Rhymes and Anderson .Paak, Chloe x Halle, Jason Derulo, The Goo Goo Dolls, Blake Shelton and galpal Gwen Stafani, and Sting.
