Woman Crush Wednesday: Mary Mouser Kicks Ass in ‘Cobra Kai’

As December nears its end, we get ready to say “Goodbye and good frickin’ riddance” to the insane and somehow decade-long year that was 2020. But, before we do, we want to end the year on a high note with one last Woman Crush Wednesday, and who better to help us with this than a talented young woman who is only at the beginning of what is sure to be a long and exciting road as a performer. So, without further ado, give it up for the lady who’s breaking boards and taking names, 2020’s last WCW, the magnificent Mary Mouser!

WHO’S THAT GAL: Mary Mouser

WHY WE’RE CRUSHING: Mouser is back starring as Samantha LaRusso in the third season of breakout hit series Cobra Kai, which drops on Netflix this Friday, January 1st. The show picks up after the explosive events of the season two finale, and is a ten episode jaunt full of redemptions, recovering, growth, revenge, humor, and, of course, kick-ass karate and action scenes. Along with Samantha, you’ll see the return of your favorite characters like Johnny (William Zabka), Miguel (Xolo Maridueña), Robby (Tanner Buchanan), and the OG Karate Kid himself, Daniel LaRusso (Ralph Macchio), plus some exciting new additions. Rave reviews for Cobra Kai: Season 3 are already pouring in, although you may just want to stick to this one from us if you want to avoid any spoilers, so clearly there’s a lot to love about the latest from delightful show. With that in mind, make sure to start your New Year off right by seeing Mouser and the rest of the cast’s amazing work in a third season sure to sweep you off your feet.

WHERE YOU’VE SEEN HER BEFORE: Mouser has already accumulated an extremely impressive list of credits, beginning with her professional acting debut in a 2004 episode of CBS police procedural drama Without a Trace before quickly earning numerous supporting roles or guest spots in shows like ScrubsMonkInconceivableCSI: Crime Scene Investigation, and The King of Queens, and doing voice work in movies like Pom PokoSon of the MaskTarzan II, and Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children all just one year later before landing her first big role as recurring character Kelly Gibbs in CBS hit action police procedural series NCIS, which she maintained from 2005 to 2012. During her time on NCIS, Mouser also had roles in movies like 2006 romcom Mr. Fix It, 2008 animated adventure comedy-drama Dragon Hunters, 2008 animated sci-fi adventure Delgo, 2009 romcom Bride Wars, and 2009 dark fantasy horror The Hole, and in shows like Eloise: The Animated SeriesLife Is WildLie to MeChowderBody of Proof, and Drop Dead Diva before getting another big recurring role as Sarah in Freeform family drama series The Fosters from 2013 to 2015.

After NCIS, Mouser went on to act in films like 2014 indie drama Medeas, 2014 war drama Field of Lost Shoes, and 2014 family comedy Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day, and appear in popular series like Scandal, Criminal MindsMaronHappy Together, and Room 104.
