The CW Shifts ‘The Flash’ Premiere, Sets ‘Superman & Lois’ Event

The CW is doubling down on new series Superman & Lois with a special “Super” Tuesday event on Tuesday, February 23. The super-sized event will feature the 90-minute premiere of Superman & Lois followed by a special, Superman & Lois: Legacy of Hope. As a result of the special event, The CW has pushed The Flash season premiere one week, to Tuesday, March 2.

Superman & Lois follows The Man of Steel, aka Clark Kent (Tyler Hoechlin), and journalist Lois Lane (Elizabeth Tulloch) as they embark on their greatest challenge yet: parenthood. Just as they have adjusted to the modern realities of parenting two young boys, the Kent family decides to move back to Smallville, where they are reacquainted with friends — including Clark’s first love Lana Lang (Emmanuelle Chriqui) and her husband Kyle Cushing (Erik Valdez) — and foes from their tumultuous past. “Meanwhile,” reads The CW’s official description, “Superman and Lois’ return to idyllic Smallville is set to be upended when a mysterious stranger (Wolé Parks, All American) enters their lives.”

Like many of The CW’s DC Comics series, Superman & Lois is produced by Berlanti Productions in association with Warner Bros. Television. The drama is based on characters created by Jerry Siegel and Joe Shuster and is written and executive produced by The Flash‘s Todd Helbing. Greg Berlanti, Sarah Schechter, and Geoff Johns serve as executive producers.

After the series premiere of Superman & Lois, The CW will air Superman & Lois: Legacy of Hope, a special that will take fans behind the scenes of the drama. The Legacy of Hope special will provide sneak peeks at future episodes and feature interviews with the cast, plus special guests reflecting on the Man of Steel’s legacy.

While The Flash Season 7 was originally slated to debut on Tuesday, February 23, the premiere has been shifted due to The CW’s “Super” Tuesday event. The DC drama will now premiere on Tuesday, March 2 at 8/7c, followed by a new episode of Superman & Lois in its regularly-scheduled 9/8c timeslot.
