Robert Kirkman’s Amazon Series ‘Invincible’ Sets March Premiere Date

Robert Kirkman‘s superhero series Invincible has set an official streaming date on Amazon. The wait is nearly over for the new comic adaptation from The Walking Dead creator, which is slated to premiere on Prime Video Friday, March 26, Amazon announced today. The first three episodes of Invincible Season 1 will premiere March 26, with new episodes following each Friday and culminating with a season finale on Friday, April 30.

The news was announced by Kirkman today during a livestream hosted by Invincible superfan Hector Navarro, which also included a sneak peek at the upcoming series. In an exclusive series clip, we get a first look at both Steven Yeun‘s character Mark Grayson/Invincible and J.K. Simmons‘ character, Nolan Grayson/Omni-Man.

Invincible, which was first announced over two years ago, is based on the Skybound/Image comic of the same name created by Kirkman, Cory Walker, and Ryan Ottley. The Invincible comic, which ran for 15 years, marks Kirkman’s second-longest comic since The Walking Dead. The series follows Mark Grayson, a 17-year-old whose typical teenage life is upended when he develops powers of his own, including flight, super-strength and more. But as he’s coming into his own identity as a superhero, he also begins to unravel his father’s complicated legacy.

The series boasts an all-star cast featuring Sandra Oh (Killing Eve), Seth Rogen (This is the End), Gillian Jacobs (Community), Andrew Rannells (Black Monday, Girls), Zazie Beetz (Deadpool 2), Mark Hamill (The Guyver), Walton Goggins (Justified), Jason Mantzoukas (Brooklyn Nine-Nine), Mae Whitman (Good Girls), Chris Diamantopoulos (Silicon Valley), Melise (The Flash), Kevin Michael Richardson (The Simpsons), Grey Griffin (Avengers Assemble), and Max Burkholder (Imaginary Order).

Last month, Invincible added eight new names, welcoming Mahershala Ali as Titan, Clancy Brown as Damien Darkblood, Nicole Byer as Vanessa & Fiona, Jeffrey Donovan as Machine Head, Jonathan Groff as Rick Sheridan, Jon Hamm as Steve, Djimon Hounsou as Martian Emperor, and Ezra Miller as D.A. Sinclair.
