Netflix‘s supernatural new series Fate: The Winx Saga is proving to be a huge hit, beating out current favorites like Bridgerton on the streamer’s Top 10 list. The supernatural show follows a fairy named Bloom (Abigail Cowen), who’s new to her magical boarding school, Alfea.
There, Bloom is introduced to a whole new world where she must master her powers and learn to control her magic, which is influenced by her emotions. While Bloom’s specialty is fire, her new friends each have their own unique powers, ranging from control over water to manipulation of plants.
While Bloom is learning to use her newfound gifts in the Otherworld, there’s danger lurking just beyond the school’s boarders, where creatures called the Burned Ones are waiting to attack anyone who passes the barrier. It’s a darker on Iginio Straffi’s cartoon series Winx Club, turning the Nickelodeon hit into a gritty teen drama.

While she’s stumbled upon a dangerous discovery, she’s got one magical creature on her side, a vampire named Matthew Clairmont (Matthew Goode), who helps her protect the book and stay safe in his world.
'Riverdale'
Much like Fate: The Winx Saga, The CW’s Riverdale puts a dark, gritty spin on the teen drama. The series, which is an adaptation of the classic Archie comics, introduces us to the small town of Riverdale, where the idyllic suburban streets hide some sinister secrets. Along with his team of Betty (Lili Reinhart), Jughead (Cole Sprouse), and Veronica (Camila Mendes), Archie (KJ Apa) sets off to solve some of the town’s mysteries. It’s part musical, part drama, and all addictive teen series.
'The Witcher'
Henry Cavill stars in The Witcher, Netflix’s fantasy show about a monster hunter named Geralt of Rivia. While traveling through a fictional land called The Continent, Geralt tracks down and kills monsters, but everything changes when he discovers his destiny. 'Chilling Adventures of Sabrina'
Not long after the successful first season of Riverdale, creator Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa released another hit teen series, Chilling Adventures of Sabrina. Keirnan Shipka stars in the titular role, but she’s far from Melissa Joan Hart. In this version of the teen witch story, things get dark as Sabrina balances her typical teenage life with her magical side and her connection to the Church of Night.
'Legacies'
Legacies, a spin-off of both The Vampires Diaries and The Originals, takes place at the Salvatore School for the Young and Gifted. While it sounds like your typical boarding school in title, it’s anything but. There, Klaus Mikaelson’s daughter, Alaric Saltzman’s twins, and more teen witches, vampires and werewolves come of age and try to fight their dark side and villainous impulses while keeping their magical identities secret from the outside.
'The Magicians'
The Magicians brings author Lev Grossman’s novels to life. The series follows grad student Quentin Coldwater (Jason Ralph), whose lifelong fascination with the fantasy world lands him at Brakebills College for Magical Pedagogy, where he discovers the world he’s been wrapped up in is very real and very dangerous. Although The Magicians ended after Season 5, it’s available to stream in its entirety on Netflix right now.
'Motherland: Fort Salem'
Supernatural Freeform show Motherland: Fort Salem imagines a women-dominated world, where the Salem Accord agreement put a stop to witch hunting nearly 300 years ago during the infamous Salem Witch Trials. The show follows three witches, Raelle Collar (Taylor Hickson), Abigail Bellweather (Ashley Nicole Williams) and Tally Craven (Jessica Sutton), who are enlisted in the U.S. Army, where they use their magic to fight the enemy.
