10 Best New Shows on Netflix: February 2021’s Top Upcoming Series to Watch

Where to Stream:

Firefly Lane

Powered by Reelgood

When the list of new releases on Netflix comes out every month, it sometimes feels like the leading streamer has opened up a firehose of content of all types: scripted, unscripted, international, and more. With everyone’s limited time, it’s hard to figure out which shows you want to sit down and binge.

The crew at Decider know how tough it is to figure what to watch… and we do this for a living. So let us be your guide. Below are quick previews of what we think the ten hottest, most intriguing series to debut on the service in February 2021 will be. They aren’t all Netflix Originals (though most are because of that firehose); just shows we know people will want to watch. Which shows will make it into the Netflix Top 10? Only time will tell!

RATING: TV-MA

Expect a lot of tears, but also a lot of warmth and scenes of supportive hugs.

'Invisible City'

PREMIERE DATE: February 5

CAST: Marco Pigossi, Alessandra Negrini, Jéssica Córes, Fábio Lago

RATING: TV-MA

DESCRIPTION: Carlos Saldanha, known for directing animated features like Rio and the Ice Age series, is the showrunner of Invisible City, his first live-action project. In the Brazilian series, a cop finds a group of mythical beings walking amongst the population of Rio; he is determined to find the connection between these beings and the death of his wife. It should be fun, but we’re disappointed there won’t be a wooly mammoth with Ray Romano’s voice in this one.

PREMIERE DATE: February 6

CAST: Bill Pullman, Matt Bomer, Chris Messina, Jessica Hecht, Eddie Martinez

RATING: TV-MA

DESCRIPTION: Pullman returns as Harry Ambrose in Season 3 of The Sinner, which originally aired on USA Network. Here, he investigates a fatal car accident in upstate New York, where the passenger who reported it, Jamie Burns (Bomer) might be more involved than he lets on. There’s a pregnant wife, old college friends, and very likely a scene or two where Messina seethes.

Cosgrove plays Carly, who creates a web show (called “iCarly”, natch) with her buddies Sam (McCurdy) and Freddie (Kress) that goes viral. How can they be internet famous and be normal teenagers at the same time?

RATING: TV-14

DESCRIPTION: Kevin James is back with a new sitcom; this time he plays a NASCAR crew chief who protects his team when the owner retires and passes it to his daughter, who is trying to modernize things. Expect a lot of car jokes, but James can be very charming, especially in the multicamera format, so this one may end up being… decent?
