The newest installment of ESPN’s acclaimed 30 for 30 series is set to premiere just three days before the Kansas City Chiefs and Tampa Bay Buccaneers meet in Super Bowl LV. Airing tonight on ESPN before streaming exclusively on ESPN+, Al Davis vs. The NFL focuses on the historic rivalry between former Raiders owner Al Davis and former NFL commissioner Pete Rozelle. Directed by Ken Rodgers (The Two Bills, Elway to Marino), the film follows the adversarial relationship between Davis and Rozelle, highlighting their early clashes in the AFL/NFL wars of the 1960s and Davis’ high-profile antitrust lawsuit against the NFL.

“No rivalry, on or off the field, helped shape the modern NFL as much as the decades-long struggle between Al Davis and Pete Rozelle,” Rodgers said in a statement. “With the 2020 Raiders and the NFL collaborating to fulfill Al’s dream of a state-of-the-art stadium for his team, now is the perfect time to look back on two men who differed on many issues, but shared a mutual love of the NFL.”

WHAT TIME DOES ESPN’S AL DAVIS 30 FOR 30 START?

Al Davis vs. The NFL airs Thursday, February 4 from 9:00-10:30 p.m. ET on ESPN. Encore presentations air Friday, February 5 at 2:00 a.m. ET and Saturday, February 6 at 7:30 a.m. ET on ESPN 2.
