Disney+ Teases New Episodes of ‘Inside Pixar’ With Inspiring First Look [Exclusive]

Ahead of the Inside Pixar: Portraits premiere on Disney+, Decider has an exclusive first look at the exciting new behind-the-scenes series. Pixar is opening up its doors and introducing us to a few of the talented figures working tirelessly to put together some of our all-time favorite movies, from Coco to the recent hit Soul.

In today’s first glimpse at the five new episodes of Inside Pixar, we meet multiple members of the Pixar team, from production assistant Rachelle Federico to pastry chef Marylou Jaso. “Pixar films are really created to be a universal experience,” a voiceover says in the first look at the new Disney+ series.

In the clip, we see small snippets of the Pixar employees’ workdays, which include recording music — “Some days, Pixar is like a wonderful music camp,” Barney Jones, music editor, explains — to perfectly frosting a batch of cookies. “I think if there’s a personal story behind a dish it makes it all the more interesting to whoever is eating it,” Jaso says.

In the latest collection of Inside Pixar episodes, we meet Federico, Jaso, and Jones, but also Director of Facility Operations Patty Bonfilio and Director of International Production Cynthia Lusk. In episodes directed by Erica Milsom and Tony Kaplan, the five Pixar employees explain why they work for the company, what they do everyday, and why they love their jobs.

“No two days are the same for Patty Bonfilio,” Disney+ explains. “From hosting major events to outfitting offices to simply keeping the studio running, Patty is at the center of it all. As Pixar’s Director of Facility Operations, she knows the inner workings of Pixar’s campus and culture like no one else. Join her on a VIP tour of the grounds and all of its hidden gems.”

As for Federico, it’s always been her dream to work at Pixar. “As Production Assistant on Pixar’s Soul, her hard work might not always be that glamorous, but she considers it an important and essential need in the creation of an animated film,” Disney+ shares. “Plus, she’s loving every minute of it.”

Jones is described as “a master” of multiple instruments and musical styles. “As a Music Editor, he uses these talents to help shape the storytelling and emotion of a Pixar film,” the streamer explains. “During his free time, he uses these same talents to make Pixar just a little more magical and fun.”

Lusk, who works as Director of International Production, “takes us into the fascinating world of localization,” Disney+ teases. “From translations to graphics to even changes in animation, Cynthia and her team work to make sure that Pixar’s films can connect and resonate to fans and families throughout the world.”

And Jaso, the pasty chef, “spends each day creating the confections and sweet treats that delight, inspire, and help feed the studio’s creativity.” As Disney+ puts it, she “has the sweetest job at Pixar – literally.”
