When did they film RuPaul’s Drag Race UK Season 2? When did they film RuPaul’s Drag Race Season 13?

RuPaul and Michelle Visage were busy during 2020. Production on RuPaul’s Drag Race UK Season 2 started sometime in the spring, as the show was able to film four episodes before the UK went into lockdown in late March. Then, as revealed in this week’s Episode 5, the queens went into seven months of quarantine.

Meanwhile in the United States, RuPaul and Michelle Visage returned and filmed RuPaul’s Drag Race Season 13 (also currently airing) in August 2020 using incredibly thorough safety protocols.

Once filming wrapped on Season 13 in the United States, production picked back up in the UK—presumably sometime in late October or early November, since that’s seven months after the UK’s first lockdown was ordered. You can tell that all of Season 13 was filmed during the break in production on UK Season 2 just by looking at Michelle Visage’s gray streak. She doesn’t have it at the beginning of UK 2, debuts it in Season 13, and has it at the start of Drag Race UK Episode 5.

Filming on RuPaul’s Drag Race UK Season 2 then wrapped in late 2020—and then Ru and Michelle traveled to New Zealand (where COVID is under control) to begin filming RuPaul’s Drag Race Down Under! Their passports are on fire!
