‘The Muppet Show’ Seasons 1-5 Are Now Streaming on Disney+

The Muppet Show has officially landed on Disney+. Starting today, the beloved Jim Henson series is now available to watch on the Disney streamer in full for the very first time. Fans of The Muppets will remember that The Muppet Show aired from 1976 to 1981, during which plenty of celebrity guests joined Kermit, Miss Piggy, Fozzie Bear, Gonzo, the Swedish Chef, Sam the Eagle, Statler and Waldorf, and more classic characters.

While The Muppet Show came to an end decades ago, love for the series and its charming, fuzzy stars remains, with bits like “Never Smile at a Crocodile” still sticking years later. Disney first acquired The Muppets in 2004, according to Variety. Since Disney+ launched in 2019, the company has been adding more Muppets content to the service, but the addition of The Muppet Show marks one of the largest yet.

In a press release from Muppet Show star Kermit, the lovable frog shared, “Today, I’m proud to say: ‘It’s time to play the music, light the lights and meet the Muppets on Disney Plus tonight!’  And as for Statler and Waldorf, the two old guys in the balcony,  I can only add: ‘Sorry, guys, but….here we go again.”
