Behind Her Eyes, a British thriller with a twisty ending, is the latest hit series on Netflix. The new drama, which stars Eve Hewson, Simona Brown, and Tom Bateman, follows a single mother who gets caught up in the disturbing relationship between her boss and his wife. When Louise (Brown) begins an affair with Dave (Bateman), a psychiatrist who works in the same office as her, she soon finds herself befriending Adele, his mysterious wife, too (Hewson).
“Many mystery thrillers start out pretty bleak, showing us how psychologically damaged its characters are from the first minute,” Decider’s Joel Keller writes in his Behind Her Eyes review. “So we appreciate shows that show their protagonists as normal people who do normal things. Behind Their Eyes is one of those shows. At first, two of the three main characters just seem like regular folks. But no one on this show is doing anything regular.”
If you’ve already finished the six-episode first season, you know the shocking twist ending. And if you haven’t quite gotten there yet, we won’t spoil it for you, but we will say that it’s possible the dark drama is returning for a Season 2. While Behind Her Eyes Season 2 hasn’t been confirmed just yet, we’re not ruling it out. Just know that the series ends the same way as the book it was based on, so Netflix would have to create some new storylines to continue the series.

This USA series is a great pick to turn to next after Behind Her Eyes. Over the course of three seasons, Detective Harry Ambrose (Bill Pullman) digs into three separate cases in his small, upstate New York town. The most recent installment of The Sinner, Season 3, stars Matt Bomer as a man unravelling with the unexpected arrival of a figure from his past. Other seasons star Jessica Biel and Carrie Coon.
'Tell Me Your Secrets'
Amazon’s new series Tell Me Your Secrets follows a trio of characters — Lily Rabe as Emma, Amy Brenneman as Mary, and Hamish Linklater as John — who all are hiding their own stories of the past. As the series goes on, each character finds their limits and wits tested as they grapple with deep, buried traumas and revisit the secrets they’ve been hiding.
'Losing Alice'
Losing Alice, a drama that premiered on Apple TV+ earlier this year, examines relationships in a similar way to Behind Her Eyes. When Alice (Ayelet Zurer), a middle-aged director, meets Sophie (Lihi Kornowski), a screenwriter decades younger than her, what begins as a friendship progresses into an unhealthy obsession. Alice is drawn to everything Sophie has that she doesn’t, and the women become dangerously close.
'The Stranger'
Netflix’s The Stranger, which debuted on the platform last year, is another British thriller that’s sure to check many of the same boxes as Behind Her Eyes. The eight-episode series, which is based on Harlan Coben’s novel of the same name, follows Richard Armitage (Adam Price), a man who is disturbed when a stranger delivers a secret that could ruin his life and also leads to the disappearance of his wife.
'The Undoing'
The Undoing was a massive hit when it premiered on HBO, leaving us all guessing who was behind the murder mystery at the root of the show. Like Behind Her Eyes, The Undoing unravels a marriage that seems perfect on the outside, but has plenty of problems hidden underneath the surface. When a wealthy doctor is accused of murder, his wife stands by him, but questions if she really knows the man she married.
'Bloodline'
Netflix drama Bloodline dives into the lives of The Rayburns, a Florida Keys family who appear to be perfectly normal, accepted members of their small community, but are really hiding some dirty secrets under their happy family exterior. Kyle Chandler, Ben Medelsohn, Linda Cardellini and more star in this twisty, dark thriller that’ll fill your Behind Her Eyes-shaped void.
'You'
Penn Badgely sheds his sweet Gossip Girl character for the creepy Joe Goldberg of You, a dark thriller that’s soon returning for Season 3 on Netflix. Joe, who thinks he’s a good guy, is very clearly a serial killer, although he’ll insist he’s doing it all in the name of love. As his obsession with his relationships deepens, Joe goes even further, with one shocking move after the next.
