‘Bridgerton’s Regé-Jean Page joins Ryan Gosling in ‘The Gray Man’ cast

Bridgerton breakout Regé-Jean Page has lined up another project with Netflix, and this one has him paired up with stars like Ryan Gosling and Chris Evans. Page is one of the latest big names to join The Gray Man, an action film from the Russo brothers that’s based on the Mark Greaney novel of the same name, Deadline reports.

Page’s role in the film hasn’t been specified, but it’s safe to say he’s not playing another swoon-worthy duke. The Gray Man, which marks the most expensive Netflix film yet with its $200 million budget, follows former CIA operative Court Gentry (Gosling) as he’s hunted down by his former CIA coworker Lloyd Hansen (Evans). Production on The Gray Man begins in the coming weeks in Los Angeles.

“The movie is a real mano a mano between those two great actors, who represent two different versions of the CIA, in what it can be, and what it can do,” Anthony Russo told Deadline last summer. “For those who were fans of Captain America: Winter Soldier, this is us moving into that territory in more of a real world setting. That’s what this movie really means for us.”

The role marks the latest exciting project for Page, who burst onto the scene thanks to his Bridgerton role, but who has been working steadily for years. Before his turn as the Duke, he appeared in a Roots miniseries, Sylvie’s Love, For the People, and more. Since Bridgerton premiered on Netflix in late 2020, he’s booked roles in the Dungeons & Dragons film and hosted Saturday Night Live, appearing in a Feb. 20 episode of SNL where the show mostly poked fun at his Bridgerton character and his good looks.

Along with Page’s casting news, Deadline also reports that Billy Bob Thornton and Alfre Woodard have joined The Gray Man. The three new additions to the cast join previously announced stars Ana de Armas, Wagner Moura, Jessica Henwick, Dhanush and Julia Butters.
