Inspired by actual events, the film follows the rise and fall of Silk Road, the infamous darknet site that was once known as “the Amazon of drugs.” Starring Nick Robinson as Ross Ulbricht (the creator of Silk Road), the movie boasts an impressive cast that includes Jason Clarke, Alexandra Shipp, Paul Walter Hauser, Darrell Britt-Gibson, Katie Aselton, and Jimmi Simpson.

WILL SILK ROAD BE ON NETFLIX OR HULU?
The film could eventually find its way to Netflix or Hulu, but in the immediate future, Silk Road will only be available on demand. The movie is distributed by Lionsgate, so Hulu is a likely destination since the streaming service (along with FX) bought the rights to stream Lionsgate movies released in 2020 and 2021.
The window between VOD release dates and Netflix/Hulu premiere dates is shrinking, so it’s possible the film could end up on Hulu in the upcoming months. For example, the Sarah Paulson film Run had an October 8, 2020 release date and premiered November 20, 2020 on Hulu.
