‘Superman & Lois’: The CW Will Stream Extended Cuts of Season 1 Episodes [Exclusive]

Looking for more of The CW’s hit Superman & Lois in your life? Then we have good news: just like how the Kents moved to Smallville to get a little space, the episodes of the series will be getting a little longer on streaming. In a first for the network, starting with Episode 2, and for the remainder of the season, each episode of Superman & Lois will hit CWTV.com and The CW app with additional footage or scenes, as exclusively revealed to Decider.

Though the additional footage included in the extended streaming episodes will vary, the good news is that you’ll be able to access them all season long — and beyond. The entire first season of Superman & Lois, including the extended cuts of the episodes, will be available to binge with no subscription of login required until 30 days prior to the start of the next season.

That’s similar to what The CW has done for previous shows like Batwoman and Katy Keene (minus the extended episodes part), and now will continue with other series like Superman & Lois.

Superman & Lois is a spinoff from the network’s extensive Arrow-verse line of shows, and stars Tyler Hoechlin as Clark Kent/Superman, and Elizabeth Tulloch as Lois Lane. After (spoilers) the death of his mother, Clark moves his family back to Smallville. With his double life as Superman taking him away from their two teen boys, and Lois’ newspaper job doing the same, the Man of Steel realizes that this is the opportunity he needs to become the Dad of Steel. Naturally, things don’t go completely smoothly — particularly when it turns out that one of his sons, Jordan (Alexander Garfin) has powers; and his other son, Jonathan (Jordan Elsass) does not.

The series, developed by Greg Berlanti & Todd Helbing, who also serve as Executive Producers along with Sarah Schechter, Geoff Johns and David Madden, also stars Erik Valdez as Kyle Cushing, Inde Navarrette as Sarah Cushing, Wolé Parks as The Stranger, Adam Rayner as Morgan Edge with Dylan Walsh as General Samuel Lane and Emmanuelle Chriqui as Lana Lang Cushing.

Recently the series was renewed for a second season after one episode, with the network noting that streaming of the premiere “lifted The CW to its most watched night of primetime in over two years and delivered the largest day-one streaming audience ever for a new series in the history of the network.”

The CW also announced today that Superman & Lois will go on a brief hiatus after the March 23 airing episode of the series. In its time-slot on Tuesdays at 9/8c, The CW will air the first part of the final season of Supergirl starting March 30, and then Superman & Lois will return on May 18 at 9/8c to continue its own season.

Up, up and away, indeed.

Superman & Lois airs Tuesdays at 9/8c after The Flash.
