This Friday is serving up a huge platter of mixed emotions: today is the 1-year anniversary of the WHO declaring COVID-19 a global pandemic, thus marking one year since the world went up in smoke. Despite the insane struggles and heartbreak, we must applaud everyone out there for making it thus far! So give yourselves a pat on the back, and celebrate your strength and resilience with the streaming platforms that have been your entertainment lifelines the entire way. And whether you’re sifting through options on Netflix, Hulu, Amazon Prime, or all of the above, hitting up the freshest titles on streaming is always the best way to start. But where should you start? Here’s our take on what to watch this weekend and where to stream it.

New Movies and Shows to Stream This Weekend: Yes Daykid 90 and Making Their Mark

There are a ton of new movies and shows to stream on every platform possible this weekend, but let’s start with the major league hitters. On Netflix there is Yes Day, the new family comedy starring Jennifer Garner that your whole household will enjoy. And if you’re inspired to say “yes” to everything after watching that flick, might we suggest checking out kid 90, the Hulu-original documentary from Punky Brewster star Soleil Moon Frye that peels back the cover on what it was like growing up in Hollywood in the 1990s. Sports fans will not have a problem finding things to watch this weekend (NCAA basketball tournaments up the wazoo come to mind!), but those looking to follow a new sport should watch Making Their Mark, the docu-series about the Australian Football League on Amazon Prime Video. Like we said, there are so many more great movies and shows like these available to check out this weekend! And to get started, check out some highlights from the great movies and shows now streaming we’ve listed below:

New on Netflix March 12: Yes Day

Jennifer Garner stars in Yes Day, the family-friendly comedy flick that is new on Netflix this weekend. Based on Amy Krouse Rosenthal’s popular children’s book of the same name, the movie centers on a mom who once lived her life saying “yes,” but since having kids has more frequently said “no.” Tired of the person she has become, Allison and her husband (played by Edgar Ramírez) decide to dedicate a whole 24 hours to saying nothing but “yes” to all of their kids’ demands! Goofy, lighthearted and sweet, Yes Day is one of the top movies out on Netflix this month and proves that once and for all, Jennifer Garner is America’s Mom.

New on Hulu March 12: kid 90

New on Hulu this weekend is kid 90, the eye-opening original documentary about what it was like growing up in young Hollywood during the 1990s. Featuring never-before-seen footage from Soleil Moon Frye (Punky Brewster) and featuring testimonies from stars like David Arquette, Tori Leonard, Stephen Dorff and more, kid 90 serves as a fascinating walk down memory lane for both the then-child stars who experienced their first brushes with fame in the 90s and the fans and viewers who watched them rise — and sometimes fall.
