The flowers are blooming, the weather is improving, and the best new titles are continuing to premiere every week on your favorite streaming platforms. Clearly, there’s a lot to feel good about this April, but perhaps best of all is your weekly Woman Crush Wednesday keeping you up to date on the most talented and dynamic actresses you should be watching now. Today we’re celebrating a wonderful woman who has put out consistently great work in everything from animation and video game voice acting to live-action movies and shows over the last 14 years. So, without further ado, give it up for your WCW, the amazing Ashly Burch!

WHO’S THAT GAL: Ashly Burch

WHY WE’RE CRUSHING: Burch stars as Rachel in Mythic Quest, a smart workplace comedy that premieres its second stand-alone pandemic special this Friday, April 16th on Apple TV+ in the lead-up to the show’s highly-anticipated May 7th premiere of Season 2. The half-hour special episode, entitled “Everlight,” was written by Burch and deals with the trials and turmoil that arise when attempting to return to normalcy in the wake of COVID-19 and transition back to working in the office and partaking in the annual Everlight work party. In addition to the talented main Mythic Quest ensemble cast, the special will also feature the vocal work of Academy Award-winning actor, Sir Anthony Hopkins.

After a successful and well-reviewed first stand-alone special released last year, entitled “Quarantine,” we’ve got high hopes for “Everlight” to deliver just as much. We can pretty safely assume, however, that Burch’s episode will be nothing be awesome, as the series — which currently holds an 89% Certified Fresh rating on Rotten Tomatoes — is a consistently sincere, funny, and witty piece of television that is a growing cult favorite for video game and comedy lovers alike. With that in mind, you’ll definitely want to make sure you check out Burch and the rest of the cast’s wonderful work in Mythic Quest: “Everlight” this Friday, only on Apple TV+.

WHERE YOU’VE SEEN HER BEFORE: Burch’s professional on-screen career began back in 2007 when she voiced Miss Pauling in the action sci-fi comedy video game, Team Fortress 2. After another video game voice acting role in 2008 sports game ZEN Pinball, Burch had her first live-action role, playing the titular character in 2010 action horror short film Donna. From there, she began racking up roles in series like Steins;GateCode: BreakerSchool of ThronesAdventure Time (for which she has written and won a Primetime Emmy Award), We Bare BearsDimension 404OK K.O.! Let’s Be HeroesSteven Universe, The Loud House, and Final Space, as well as in films like 2012 romantic-comedy Must Come Down, 2015 comedy The Strongest Man, 2015 documentary The Mask You Live In, and 2015 sci-fi comedy Uncle Kent 2, and also in popular video games like Life Is StrangeMortal Kombat XLego Marvel’s AvengersHorizon Zero Dawn, and The Last of Us Part II.

Burch is perhaps best known, however, for voice acting as Sasha Braus in the dubbed version of popular action adventure anime series Attack on Titan, and for writing, creating, executive producing, and acting in sketch comedy series Hey Ash, Whatcha Playin’?. Also, in addition to her Emmy for her contributions to Adventure Time, Burch has won three Golden Joystick Awards and a PlayStation.Blog Game of the Year Award for her vocal performances in various video games. Burch is a gifted performer who can thrive in just about any medium, and we look forward to all of the ways and places she will continue to crush it in the years to come.

WHERE YOU’LL SEE HER AGAIN: Luckily, you won’t have to wait too much longer to see more from Burch, as she has two exciting new vocal performances in the works. The first is the role of Aloy in upcoming action adventure-fantasy video game Horizon: Forbidden West, and the second is playing the titular Molly McGee in Disney Channel animated musical comedy television series, The Ghost of Molly McGee, which follows Molly McGee, an optimistic tween, who lives to make the world a better place, and a grumpy, deep voiced ghost named Scratch (Dana Snyder), whose joy comes from spreading misery, who both are eventually forced to be in each others’ presence eternally after a spell gone wrong. Keep an eye out for both of these projects as they develop throughout the rest of this year.

For even more from Burch in the meantime, make sure to follow her on Twitter and Instagram so you can show our incredible WCW the love she deserves!
