Jimmy Kimmel Rips “Ignorant A-Hole” Caitlyn Jenner for Homeless Comments

It’s safe to say Caitlyn Jenner won’t be getting Jimmy Kimmel‘s vote. The late night host mocked Jenner, who is running for governor of California, on Jimmy Kimmel Live last night, mercilessly tearing into the former reality star for her interview with Sean Hannity. In his Thursday night monologue, Kimmel roasted the California governor hopeful, joking about how well she “understands the plight of everyday Californians here in L.A,” The Daily Beast reports.

While Jenner’s Hannity interview covered everything from Trump’s border wall to her “outsider” status in the gubernatorial race, her comments about California’s homeless popular got the most heat after the episode aired.  “My friends are leaving California,” Jenner told Hannity from inside her airplane hangar. “My hangar, the guy across… he was packing up his hangar and I said, ‘Where are you going?’ And he says, ‘I’m moving to Sedona, Arizona, I can’t take it anymore. I can’t walk down the streets and see the homeless.'”

Kimmel was not impressed. “Ah, homeless people. Can’t walk around ’em, can’t fly over ’em, you know?” he joked.

“Is it transphobic to call a trans person an ignorant a-hole?” Kimmel asked. “Or does calling that trans person an ignorant a-hole— even though she happens to be a trans person — show that we don’t discriminate against ignorant a-holes, no matter their gender orientation? It’s a tough one. I don’t know, I guess we’ll let the internet decide tomorrow.”

Earlier in his monologue, Kimmel played a clip of Jenner professing her “inexplicable affection for Donald Trump.” After Jenner praised the former president for coming in and shaking up the system, Kimmel joked, “He shook the system so hard he lost custody of it,” adding, “Child Protective Services had to come in and stop him from shaking the system.”

Jenner first announced her run for governor in late April, and has been a press tour since, but has run into some controversy in the short period she’s been running. Last week, she received backlash after saying trans girls shouldn’t be allowed to play on girls’ sports teams. “I oppose biological boys who are trans competing in girls’ sports in school. It just isn’t fair,” she told TMZ.
“And we have to protect girls’ sports in our schools.”

Jimmy Kimmel Live airs weeknights at 11:35/10:35c on ABC. Watch the full monologue from last night’s show in the video above. You’ll find Kimmel’s Jenner segment right around the 3:45 minute mark.
