Tawny Kitaen Dies at 59: R.I.P. To ‘Bachelor Party’ Star, Whitesnake Video Vixen

Julie E. “Tawny” Kitaen, Bachelor Party actress and recurring Whitesnake music video star, has died, Variety reports. Kitaen, who was most known for her role as the vixen in many of the ’80s hard rock band’s videos, was 59 years old.

The Orange County, California coroner’s office confirmed the news, listing her as Tawny Finley. The report states that the star died at her home in Newport Beach on Friday morning, but a cause of death has not yet been revealed.

Kitaen was born in San Diego, California, and first emerged as part of the rock scene in 1983 after appearing on the cover of heavy metal band RATT’s self-titled 1983 debut album as well as Out of the Cellar, in 1984, an album which has been certified triple-platinum. At the time, Kitaen was dating RATT guitarist Robbin Crosby.

The seductress was featured in RATT’s “Back for More” music video and soon after became the video vixen most known for her appearance in Whitesnake’s 1987 smash hit “Here I Go Again,” where she displayed her beauty and acrobatic flexibility. You can check out that music video above.

“Still of the Night,” “Is This Love” and “The Deeper the Love” also featured Kitaen, who very briefly married Whitesnake’s lead singer, David Coverdale, from 1989 to 1991.

She then moved on to acting with a starring role as Tom Hanks’ girlfriend in the celebrated 1984 comedy, Bachelor Party. Kitaen also appeared in Witchboard, White Hot and Dead Tides, as well as a Seinfeld episode titled “The One With The Nose Job.”

Kitaen more recently partook in a few reality shows, including The Surreal Life, Botched and a 2008 season of VH1’s Celebrity Rehab with Dr. Drew.

She had long struggled with substance abuse, as she revealed on Celebrity Rehab, and had several encounters with the law, including a 2006 cocaine possession and 2009 DUI charge.

Kitaen is survived by two daughters from her marriage to baseball player Chuck Finley from 1997 to 2002.

She last tweeted on May 6 to thank a fan for a drawing.
