Of course Outer Banks was going to nominated for Best Kiss at the 2021 MTV Movie & TV Awards. Have you seen John B and Sarah Cameron? Have you seen Chase Stokes and Madelyn Cline? Their chemistry, both in real life and on screen, is undeniable. And true to form, the two showed off this sizzling hot chemistry when they made out after winning Best Kiss, an MTV staple.
The Best Kiss category was a stacked one this year. Alongside Stokes and Cline, Regé-Jean Page and Phoebe Dynevor were nominated for Bridgerton, Jodie Comer and Sandra Oh were nominated for Killing Eve, Lily Collins and Lucas Bravo were nominated for Emily in Paris, and Maitreyi Ramakrishnan and Jaren Lewison were nominated for Never Have I Ever. But the category wasn’t “Best Psychotic Relationship” or “Best Precursor to Bodice-Ripping Sex.” It was Best Kiss, and on that front there was only one real contestant.
While Stokes was stumbling through his acceptance speech, Cline gave fans what they wanted and planted one on her co-star, and real life boyfriend. And that’s when people lost it.

It’s truly no wonder that Stokes and Cline are the recipients of this delightfully horny award that’s been won by other pro-kissers like Rachel McAdams and Ryan Gosling. John B and Sarah Cameron embody the classic will-they-make-it dynamic every teen has not-so-secretly pined over.
He’s the working class kid with a heart of gold, and enough angst to make him seem mysterious. She’s the rich girl who actually nice in spite of her terrible friends and family. They’re perfect for each other. Plus it doesn’t hurt that Stokes has hair that can only be described as excellently floppy, and Cline is the master of the pout.
And luckily for fans, we’re about to see a lot more of those smooches soon. Earlier this month, Netflix announced that Outer Banks Season 2 will be premiering sometime this summer. That means more kissing, more treasure hunts, and more aquatic adventures. We can’t wait.
