ABC Reveals Fall Schedule: ‘Big Sky’ Moves to Thursdays, ‘The Bachelorette’ Returns

ABC has released its schedule for the fall 2021-2022 season, pushing Big Sky to Thursday and introducing a comedy block mid-week. After The Bachelorette was delayed by the pandemic, it will return to the successful Tuesday 8 p.m. slot it retained last fall. And after a breakthrough freshman season, Big Sky has landed a prime Thursday slot, replacing the canceled Rebel and following the network’s hit Grey’s Anatomy.

A handful of popular ABC shows are also scheduled to return, including Dancing with the StarsThe Good DoctorGrey’s AnatomyShark Tank, and America’s Funniest Home Videos. Along with RebelMixed-ish and For Life have been canceled and will not return this season. Kenya Barris’s Black-ish is also set to leave the network after this year, after debuting its eighth and final season.

Wednesday evenings will be dedicated to comedies, pairing the broadcaster’s new Wonder Years reboot with ABC hit The Goldbergs in the 8-9 p.m. block. Other Wednesday comedies include Home Economics and The Conners, with Black-ish notably missing from the slate. Black-ish‘s final season will debut midseason.

ABC will introduce two new drama programs, Queens and Women of the Movement. The network has also announced three new comedy series, including The Wonder YearsAbbott Elementary, and Maggie.
