Arnold Schwarzenegger to Star in Spy TV Show at Netflix

Arnold Schwarzenegger is making his Netflix debut. The former California Governor, actor, body-builder, and businessman is set to star in an eight-episode untitled global spy adventure. The one-hour-long series marks Schwarzenegger’s first dip into scripted television, and is produced by his frequent collaborator, Skydance.

The show, which is created by Nick Santora, will also star Top Gun: Maverick actress Monica Barbaro as Schwarzenegger’s daughter. The adventure series will follow unforeseen circumstances after a father and his daughter realize they’ve been secretly operating as CIA Operatives for years. The pair must come to terms with the fact that they’ve been lying to each other for years, and don’t really know each other at all. Still, they must team up in an epic family dynamic “set against a global backdrop of spies, fantastic action and humor.”

“Fans from all over the world have been asking me for a wild ride like this for years, and now they’re finally going to get it because of our great partners at Skydance and Netflix,” Schwarzenegger said. “I am beyond pumped to start work on the show with Nick and Monica and the whole team.”

Santora created and developed the idea, and is also executive producing the project as a part of his overall deal with Skydance television. After the project was developed and the two leads were attached, Skydance started shopping the series out on the streaming marketplace.

Schwarzenegger has worked with Skydance on the Terminator Genisys and Terminator: Dark Fate movies. The star is set to executive produce with Santora, David Ellison, Dana Goldberg, and Bill Bost. Skydance has worked with Netflix in series past, and this upcoming show will continue the collaboration. Netflix and Skydance have paired up for shows like Grace and Frankie and Altered Carbon.
