Jimmy Kimmel Tears Andrew Giuliani to Shreds Over Bid to Run for Governor

Andrew Guiliani, son of Donald Trump’s attorney Rudy Giuliani, announced his run for governor of New York yesterday, and Jimmy Kimmel had an absolute field day with the news on last night’s episode of Jimmy Kimmel Live. Dubbing Andrew “son of Shellac-ula,” Kimmel mocked the younger Giuliani for entering the race despite having zero experience as an elected official, The Daily Beast reports.

Andrew made his official announcement on Good Day New York yesterday, telling the hosts “it’s time New York get turned around” and that he’s going to make New York not just “the cultural center of the world,” but “the economic center of the world.” In response to Giuliani’s complaints that he’s “sick and tired” of New Yorkers leaving the state for places like Florida, Kimmel shot back, “[He] wants to stop New Yorkers from moving to Florida, like Donald Trump, who moved to Florida from New York.”

To fill his viewers in, Kimmel shared a little more background on the gubernatorial hopeful. “He is a former professional golfer, which is good. That way when he gets the lowest number of votes he’ll think he won,” he joked. The late night host added, “He doesn’t have much experience in anything, really, it seems. He worked for Trump but as he told the New York Post, ‘I’m a politician out of the womb. It’s in my DNA.'”

Pulling up the infamous photo of Rudy’s leaking hair dye at a press conference last year, Kimmel said with a laugh, “Right, of course, that means this is also in your DNA. Jack the Dripper.”

Kimmel suggested that anyone looking to work on Andrew’s campaign can just “call his dad’s butt sometime soon,” poking fun at the multiple instances when Rudy has butt-dialed a reporter.

Jimmy Kimmel Live airs weeknights at 11:35/10:35c on ABC. Watch Kimmel’s monologue from last night’s show in the video above. You’ll find his bit on Andrew Giuliani right around the 5:00 minute mark.
