There are so many options to choose from when it comes to streaming platforms nowadays that subscribers may be looking to take a break from Hulu, but first you might want to explore some of their less expensive tiers. According to a 2019 study by Forbes, the average American subscriber watches 3-4 streaming services (which can add up monetarily) and the marketplace has only blossomed further since then. The upside to streaming services, unlike traditional cable, is that there are no contracts and you can cancel and rejoin at any time.

Hulu, which has the benefit of next-day streaming of many network television shows as well as a cheaper ad-supported tier, was one of the first platforms to gain traction in the market alongside Netflix. Subscribers currently have access to watch such films as Palm Springs, Parasite and Nomadland as well as the hit original series The Handmaid’s Tale. The platform is also home to shows like Grey’s Anatomy, This Is Us and Killing Eve. There’s also an option to add Live TV to your streaming package to catch many of these shows in real-time.

HOW TO CANCEL YOUR HULU SUBSCRIPTION:

You may already be logged in to the platform, but if you’re not, you would first log in then select one of your profiles.

To access your Account you would then click on to the profile name on the top righthand corner of the page. Under “Your Subscription,” click “Cancel Subscription.” Hulu will ask you to provide a reason for your decision to cancel. Choose a reason and click “Continue To Cancel.”

If you would like to proceed with canceling at this point, click “Cancel Subscription” at the bottom of the page to finalize your cancellation. Even if you cancel, you will still have access to the platform until the day before your next billing date.

CAN YOU REJOIN HULU AFTER YOU CANCEL?

Yes! The good news is that you can always renew your subscription to Hulu as well as both upgrade and downgrade your service plan.

Hulu’s lowest tier (which is ad-supported) currently costs $5.99 a month and you can head here to reactivate your subscription. You can use Hulu on your desktop, as well as via Roku, Amazon Fire TV, Android TV, Apple TV, Playstation 4, Samsung TV, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S devices.
