French Exit

Powered by Reelgood

We discover ourselves when we’re forced to search in the strangest of places: magical forests, the streets of Paris, outer space. In this week’s selections for movies that are new on VOD, we’re highlighting the critically acclaimed French Exit, starring Michelle Pfeiffer in a personal best performance (okay, maybe there’s room for both this and Catwoman), and The Water Man, starring Lonnie Chavis as a young boy on the hunt for a mystical cure for his mother’s illness.

And if you want a little more of a futuristic dystopia, Chaos Walking, starring Daisy Ridley and Tom Holland, is kind of like what would happen if you combine the premise of What Women Want with the terrifying, invasive tech of Made For Love. Ridley stars as Viola, a woman who crash lands on a planet where all the women are dead and all the men project their thoughts and she can hear what they’re thinking. While Holland’s Todd vows to protect hr from whatever it is that’s killing the women, unbeknownst to him, there are other dangers that threaten them both.

These are just a few of the titles that are available to watch on Amazon Prime Video, iTunes, YouTube, and through your cable service this week. Check out what movies are available to buy or rent on demand now!

French Exit

Based on the 2018 book of the same name by Patrick deWitt, who also wrote the screenplay, French Exit is the story of Frances Price, played by Michelle Pfeiffer, a 60-year-old New York socialite who uses the last of her inheritance to move with her son to Paris. Pfeiffer’s Frances is caustic and darkly funny, her performance hasgarnered critical acclaim already, so why not check it out on the small screen this weekend?
