Today FX announced the 2021 premiere dates for American Horror Story: Double Feature, American Horror Stories, Impeachment: American Crime Story, What We Do in the Shadows, Y: The Last Man, and more. And all of this great TV is coming out sooner than you think.

Here’s a glimpse at the full schedule:

  • Reservation Dogs: Monday, August 9
  • American Horror Story: Double Feature: Wednesday, August 25
  • Archer Season 12: Wednesday, August 25

  • Impeachment: American Crime Story: Tuesday, September 7
  • Y: The Last Man: Monday, September 13
  • Untitled B.J. Novak Anthology Series: Thursday, September 16

But this is FX we’re talking about. Between FX, its sister network FXX, its FX on Hulu collaboration, and its random exclusivity deals, this network has one of the most confusing release schedules around. So let us break it down for you.

The first major show to kick off FX’s summer slate of programming will be American Horror Stories. The much-anticipated spinoff series to American Horror Story will feature a new and twisting horror tale in every episode. The first two episodes of seven-episode limited series will premiere of FX Thursday, July 15. It will be available exclusively on FX on Hulu.

That will then be followed by Taika Waititi’s Reservation Dogs. The new half-hour comedy will follow “the exploits of four Indigenous teenagers in rural Oklahoma who steal, rob and save in order to get to the exotic, mysterious and faraway land of California.” We’re already hooked. Altogether there will be eight episodes of this new series, and the first two will premiere on Monday, August 9. Like with American Horror Stories, this one will be an FX on Hulu exclusive.

Now it’s time for the big gun: American Horror Story: Double Feature. The 10th season of the Ryan Murphy and Brad Falchuk thriller will be doing the unthinkable this time around. One season, two different stories. This season will premiere on FX on Wednesday, August 25 at 10/9c p.m. It will be available on FX on Hulu the following day. Also, thanks to an earlier announcement, we know this season will conclude on Halloween of this year.

August 25 will also see the return of Archer. The beloved animated comedy will be returning with an eight-episode 12th season. The first two episodes will premiere on FXX Wednesday, August 25 at 10/9c p.m. Those new episodes will then be available the next day on FX on Hulu.

That will be followed by Season 3 of What We Do in the Shadows, Taika Waititi and Jemaine Clement’s absurdist vampire comedy. Altogether there will be 10 episodes in this new season, which will deal with everything from werewolf kickball to Colin Robinson’s 100th birthday. The silliness will commence on FX Thursday, September 2 at 10/9c p.m. with its first two episodes. New episodes will then be available the following day on FX on Hulu.

Ready for another heavy hitter? You’ve got it, because Impeachment: American Crime Story is almost ready. Centered around the Clinton scandal, the third installment of this anthology series will follow Paula Jones, Monica Lewinsky, and Linda Tripp in the midst of the country’s first impeachment proceedings in over a century. Sarah Burgess will serve as the showrunner, writer, and executive producer of this new installment, and Ryan Murphy, Brad Falchuk, Nina Jacobson, and Brad Simpson will executive produce. The first two episodes in Impeachment’s 10-episode run will premiere on FX Tuesday, September 7 at 10/9c p.m. Episodes will not be available on Hulu the following day, so September is the month to invest in cable.

Speaking of hyped up FX shows, Y: The Last Man is finally about to enter our lives. Based on Brian K. Vaughan and Pia Guerra’s comic of the same name, the series “traverses a post-apocalyptic world in which a cataclysmic event decimates every mammal with a Y chromosome but for one cisgender man and his pet monkey. The series follows the survivors in this new world as they struggle with their efforts to restore what was lost and the opportunity to build something better.” The first two episodes in this 10 episode first season premiere on Monday, September 13 exclusively on FX on Hulu.

Last but not least that leaves BJ Novak’s untitled anthology series. According to a press release about the series, the half-hour is about “people figuring out timeless moral questions in unprecedented times. Choosing art instead of argument to engage with the most relevant issues of our times, it’s sure to be a conversation starter.” Sounds very Novak. The first two of its five episodes will premiere on Thursday, September 16 only on FX on Hulu.
