Who Plays Casey on ‘Loki’? Meet Eugene Cordero

Marvel Studios’ Loki features a cast led by Tom Hiddleston himself, the most tenured performer still suiting up as a Marvel character. The Disney+ series includes a bunch of notable newcomers, including Owen Wilson as hotshot Time Variance Authority agent Mobius and Gugu Mbatha-Raw as the intimidating Ravonna Renslayer. And then, on the other end of the spectrum, is…. Casey. He’s just Casey, the guy working the front desk at the TVA who is… well, no one would describe him as a hotshot or intimidating.

But who is Casey on Loki—and more importantly, why does Casey look so familiar? Here’s what you need to know about your new favorite comic relief character.

Who is Casey on Loki?

Uh, he’s the guy working the front desk at the TVA. That’s pretty much it! Between him and the guy who Wanda intimidated when she barged into S.W.O.R.D. headquarters, front desk guys are having a real moment in the MCU. As a member of the TVA, Casey was created by the Time-Keepers and therefore doesn’t exist outside of his role behind that desk. That’s why the guy doesn’t know what a fish is. If it’s not served in the TVA cafeteria, then he doesn’t know about it.

Casey, like Wunmi Mosaku’s B-15, is a completely original character created for Loki. There’s no backstory that you need to know, and the character really could go anywhere the show wants. There’s only canon to create and not follow.

Who plays Casey on Loki?

If Casey looks familiar, that’s probably because you’ve watched television over the past couple years. Casey is played by Eugene Cordero, a comedian and character actor who has popped up in a bunch of rad places. He was in Kong: Skull Island and he’s done segments on Drunk History. Maybe you recognize him from the thousands of shows he did at the Upright Citizens Brigade Theatres in New York (RIP) and Los Angeles. Or maybe you recognize him from his two most notable roles: as Pillboi on The Good Place and as villager Stoke on The Mandalorian.

A dumb party bro with no sense of self-preservation and a timid villager just trying to keep raiders from pillaging his people—Eugene Cordero can play it all! And now he can add hapless office drone for a sci-fi mega-corporation to his resumé.

Understandably, all the actors playing TVA employees felt a real sense of camaraderie on the Loki set, as Wunmi Mosaku (B-15) told Decider. “It definitely has a feeling of [being co-workers] because of the uniforms and there’s a hierarchy and we all go to the same studio every day. So it does feel like there’s like a routine, and it has an office feel to it in a way. The water cooler is like the hand sanitizing station.”
