Miracles do come true. After years spent wondering when new episodes will premiere, we’re finally getting a new season of Rick and Morty only a year after Season 4. That’s right: this is the summer of Rick and Morty Season 5.

Few shows have had a release schedule as unpredictable as Rick and Morty‘s. For the past four seasons it hasn’t been uncommon to wait a year and a half or even two years between new installments. But thanks to Adult Swim’s 70-episode deal with its biggest hit, those blurry premiere times may become a thing of the past. Here’s everything you need to know about how to watch Rick and Morty Season 5.

When Will Rick and Morty Season 5 Be on Adult Swim? When’s the Rick and Morty Season 5, Episode 1 Release Date?

Not every show gets its own holiday for a premiere, but Rick and Morty has never been any old show. Rick and Morty will premiere its first Season 5 episode on Sunday, June 20. That day will be Rick and Morty Day and also, ironically, Father’s Day.

What’s Rick and Morty Day, you ask? To celebrate the Season 5 premiere of Dan Harmon and Justin Roiland’s mega hit, the network has decreed that June 20 is global holiday. That means a day full of behind-the-scenes extras, sneak peeks, and special surprises. These exclusives will be available across Adult Swim’s channel, its digital platforms, and the show’s social accounts. So if you wanted to devote an entire Sunday to all things Rick and Morty, Adult Swim is going to make it really easy for you.

What Time Does Rick and Morty Air? What Time Will Rick and Morty Season 5, Episode 1 Arrive on Adult Swim?

If you want to watch live — and you do — you’re in for a late Sunday night. But you already knew that, didn’t you? Rick and Morty Season 5 premieres on Adult Swim Sunday, June 20 at 11/10c p.m.

Where Can I Watch Rick and Morty Season 5? Where to Stream Rick and Morty Season 5

There’s only one way to watch new episodes: through Adult Swim. That means you need access to live TV. On that front you have a couple of options.

If you still have cable, congratulations. Your dedication to the old television order has paid off. Since Adult Swim is a branch of Cartoon Network, you can watch new episodes of Rick and Morty live through your cable subscription. You don’t even have to watch through your TV set. If you’re on the go simply enter your cable username and password into Adult Swim’s site or its app and start streaming.

What if you no longer have cable? If you have a live TV skinny bundle you’re still in the clear. YouTube TV, Hulu + Live TV, and Sling TV all have Adult Swim.

Unfortunately those are the only ways you can watch this new season live. Unlike other shows, new episodes of Rick and Morty Season 5 won’t go to Hulu or HBO Max the day after they premiere. But hope isn’t lost. Adult Swim sometimes posts new Rick and Morty episodes on its site for free.

How Many Episodes Are in Rick and Morty Season 5?

Altogether there will be 10 episodes in this new season. That number isn’t surprising. Season 1 has been the only installment of the show to have 11 episodes. The rest have been 10 episodes each.

When Will Rick and Morty Season 5 Be on Hulu?

At the moment we don’t know. Starting in November of 2020 Rick and Morty became available on both Hulu and HBO Max. But unlike other shows on Hulu, new episodes of the series will not be coming to the streaming service the day after they premiere.

Last season Rick and Morty Season 4 concluded on May 31, 2020. It took six months after that conclusion before Hulu and HBO Max carried that season. Based on that timeline we can likely expect Rick and Morty Season 5 to come to Hulu and HBO six months after Episode 10 premieres.

When Will Rick and Morty Season 5 Be on HBO Max?

Like we covered before, Rick and Morty‘s first four seasons are currently available to stream on Hulu and HBO Max. But based on Season 4’s timeline it’s going to take a while before these new episodes come to streaming. Look out for Rick and Morty Season 5 roughly six months after Adult Swim premieres Episode 10.
