Netflix’s steamy new series Sex/Life follows Sarah Shahi’s Billie Connolly as she strives to reclaim the hedonistic glory of her single days with her staid husband Cooper (Mike Vogel). Haunting her fantasies? Ex-boyfriend Brad (Adam Demos) and the raunchy sex they used to have. The series is a balls to the wall look at desire and likely to be your secret new Netflix obsession. But will there be a Sex/Life Season 2?

Created by Stacy Rukeyser and inspired by the best-selling book 44 Chapters About 4 Men, Sex/Life takes us inside the world of Connecticut housewife Billie. While Billie seemingly has a picture perfect life, she longs for the wild rush of her single days. It seems her handsome, rich, and loving husband simply can’t get her hot and horny like ex-boyfriend Brad did. Billie begins writing about her old life of constant orgasms in a journal that Cooper sees. The revelation that his wife needs rougher sex sends their marriage into a tailspin. There’s awkward conversation, sexual exploration, and eventually, infidelity. Though it seems that Billie and Cooper have worked their marital problems out by the end of the season, Billie makes one final bold choice. Sex/Life Season 1 ends with Billie running to Brad’s loft. She claims she will not leave her husband, but implores him to sleep with her. (Actually, the last lines of Sex/Life Season 1 are “Now fuck me,” so…)

So what’s next for Billie and Cooper and Brad? Here’s everything we know about Sex/Life Season 2 on Netflix…

Will There be a Sex/Life Season 2 on Netflix?

We don’t know! The show only debuted on Netflix this morning, which means it will take some time for the streaming service to determine if it’s a big enough hit to order a second season.

When Will Sex/Life Season 2 Premiere on Netflix?

If Netflix decides to renew Sex/Life, we have a pretty good idea of how long it will take for Season 2 to come out. Production on the first season was delayed thanks to COVID, but Sex/Life Season 1 eventually started shooting in Mississauga, Canada in August 2020. Production wrapped in December 2020.

So if Netflix gives the show a swift renewal, you can likely expect Sex/Life Season 2 to premiere Summer 2022.

Sex/Life Season 1 Ending Explained

After a season of hookups, sex parties, and angst, Billie eventually has to choose between Brad and Cooper. Her ex-love actually proposes to her, which is awkward because she’s still legally married to Cooper. While the Sex/Life Season 1 finale opens with Billie imagining a life married to Cooper (including bathtub sex), she rejects him.

It seems that Billie’s priorities have realigned to get things right with Cooper. She wins him back, enrolls in grad school, and wins back the respect of some suburban bitches she shouldn’t have cared about anyway. All is well, until it’s not.

Sex/Life Season 1 ends with Billie literally running away to New York City to have sex with Brad. She tells him she will not leave Cooper, but the last line is her telling him to fuck her.

If there is a Sex/Life Season 2 expect it to broach the very trendy topic of open marriage because that’s essentially what Billie and Cooper already have! Or, you know, they could divorce and split the assets of that big house and sleep with whomever they want. I don’t know! I don’t really care! I’m still thinking about how uncomfortable that bathtub sex fantasy seemed!
