At the moment The Purge movies and TV show are scattered all throughout streaming, so we’re going to go about this chronologically starting with 2013’s original The Purge. The first installment in this horror franchise can be streamed for free on Peacock with ads. Hate ads? When Will The Forever Purge Be Available to Stream?

We know why you really want to revisit this horror franchise. You want to make sure you’re prepared for this year’s The Forever Purge. After roughly 20 years spent limiting violence to one day a year, a band of rogues say “screw that” and keep on murdering. It’s an installment that feels inevitable. And that inevitability is coming to you soon.

The Forever Purge will be released by Universal Pictures on July 2. It was originally supposed to premiere last July but was delayed by the COVID-19 pandemic. That theatrical release date is the good news. Now for the bad. Universal hasn’t announced that it will be streaming this movie throughout The Forever Purge‘s theatrical run.

But wait, there’s good news, too! Universal releases actually head to streaming pretty quickly, but it all depends on opening weekend box office. If the movie makes less than $50 million on opening weekend in theaters, it will hit Premium Video on Demand 17 days later, for about $20. If it makes more than $50 million? 31+ days later. That means that The Forever Purge could be available to rent as soon as July 19, or sometime after August 2. We’ll see if theatrical audiences decide to purge the movie from theaters sooner, or later.
