Lloyd Spencer and his mustache have already proven to be an interesting addition to this season of Below Deck Mediterranean, but after the story he told during Episode 2, it’s clear we still have a whole lot to learn about this dude.
Bosun Malia White checked on him during anchor watch, and we then got this doozy of a story during his interview. “I’ve been at anchor on smaller boats, and before that, all my previous jobs I’ve been around lots and lots of people,” Lloyd explained. He went on to say he “Spent four years selling cars, which was the worst time of my life. On my first day, they brought me into the office when they heard one of my phone calls and they made me stay late, stand on a table on the phone calling people, while people threw things at me to make me smile while speaking on the phone. That really sculpted the way that I am today. At the time, it was hateful,” he laughed.
Well, that sure is one way to do training! We also learned that Lloyd previously drove tourists on coach busses all through Europe, which earned him both the unique distinction and a t-shirt detailing as much that “You look like the Nicholas Cage.” The Brighton, England native has also been compared to video game legend Mario so far on the show.
We’re only two episodes into Season 6 but it’s clear that Lloyd and his pals on the deck team are already the highlights of this season with their fun stories and good vibes at every turn. Hey, maybe that car dealership training really did pay off for him (and us as viewers!).
Below Deck Mediterranean airs Monday at 9 pm ET/PT on Bravo with new episodes streaming a week early on Peacock.
