How to Watch the 2021 Scripps National Spelling Bee Finals

Eleven top-notch students are facing off in the Scripps Spelling Bee finals, testing their knowledge with some of the the most difficult words in the English language. After the competition was canceled for the first time since WWII last year due to the pandemic, the spelling bee is back, uniting contestants from across the country for 10 rounds of fierce competition.

209 competitors in total qualified to face off in this year’s bee, which has a grand prize of $50,000. After weeks of competition, it all comes to a head tonight with the finals, which will take place at at Walt Disney World near Orlando, Florida. The top middle school spellers will battle it out for the title of spelling bee champion, and we’ve got you covered with everything you need to know to tune in on all of the action.

WHEN IS THE SCRIPPS NATIONAL SPELLING BEE FINALS?

While the spelling bee has been taking place since June 12, we’ve finally reached the toughest level in the competition: the finals. The final round of the Scripps Spelling Bee takes place today, Thursday July 8.

WHAT TIME IS THE SCRIPS SPELLING BEE?

If you want to tune into the spelling bee live, all the action starts at 8/7c. The finals are expected to run until approximately 10/9c.

HOW TO WATCH THE 2021 SCRIPPS NATIONAL SPELLING BEE:

To watch tonight’s spelling bee finals, you’ll need access to ESPN2 or ESPNU. If you have an active cable account, you’re all set to go and can watch on traditional TV or through the ESPN website.
