Woman Crush Wednesday: Ramona Young is Always a Delight in ‘Never Have I Ever’

July already feels like it’s flying by, so feel free to slow things down by taking the time to pause and enjoy your newest weekly Woman Crush Wednesday. This time around, we’re talking about an up-and-coming actress crushing it in one of the best new Netflix comedy series of the last few years, and who is only continuing to shine brighter with each and every year she puts in the work. She’s going places, so make sure to remember her name as you give it up for your latest WCW, the remarkable Ramona Young!

WHO’S THAT GAL: Ramona Young

WHY WE’RE CRUSHING: Young is back to play Eleanor Wong in the highly-anticipated second season of Netflix Original coming-of-age comedy-drama series Never Have I Ever, which premieres on the platform this Thursday, July 15th. The beloved Mindy Kaling-created show’s sophomore season is guaranteed to be full of the friendship, drama, romance, and teen troubles that made its first season such a breakout hit, as Devi (Maitreyi Ramakrishnan) finds herself in a tangled love triangle between her longtime crush, the school hottie Paxton Hall-Yoshida (Darren Barnet), and her former-nemesis turned reliable confidante Ben Gross (Jaren Lewison). Devi’s best buds Fabiola (Lee Rodriguez) and Eleanor (Young) are also back to pursue their own romances and ambitions in addition to trying to help and support Devi along the way as she gets into all sorts of excitement and mischief (trying to date two people at once… not your best idea, Devi. Excellent television, though).

The show’s second season is already receiving plenty of ink and positive praise from publications like Entertainment WeeklyMetroIndieWire, and us here at Decider, so make sure to see what we’re all talking about by catching Young and the rest of the incredible cast and crew of Never Have I Ever: Season 2 as soon as it drops on Netflix.

WHERE YOU’VE SEEN HER BEFORE: Young’s professional onscreen career began with the role of Eve/Ghost in 2010 adventure-comedy short film Specter. From there, she quickly began building up a dynamic list of credits on screens big and small, appearing in shows like This Indie ThingSuper Fun NightReview, and Flip the Script, as well as in films like 2015 comedy Twelve, 2016 action-horror drama The Thinning, and 2017 comedy Thin Ice. In more recent years, Young is perhaps best known for her recurring roles on shows like Man Seeking WomanThe Real O’NealsZ NationSanta Clarita Diet, and DC’s Legends of Tomorrow, as well as her roles in movies like 2018 comedy Blockers, 2018 comedy-drama All About Nina, and 2020 buddy road comedy-drama Unpregnant. With all of this wonderful work already under her belt, it’s clear that Young is an exceptional and growing talent who is going to be around for a long time, and we can’t wait to see all of her great work in the years to come!

WHERE YOU’LL SEE HER AGAIN: While we’re currently not sure what’s next for Young project-wise, you can at least keep up with the latest from the actress in the meantime by following her on Twitter, Instagram, Facebook, and TikTok. Don’t miss out on anything from this week’s delightful WCW!
