Looking for the best fitting wireless earbuds? Ultimate Ears has introduced the UE FITS ($249), a pair of true wireless earphones which better suit the exact shape of your ear. The company, which has years of experience creating custom in-ear monitors for professional musicians, is using built-in, bright purple LEDs to heat up the gel-filled ear tips at set-up. This will then make them malleable enough to fit to your individual ear once you put them on. The entire process takes less than a minute and can be accessed with a free companion app, which will also allow you to repeat the process in case you’re feeling unsure about your initial fit.
To show its solidarity with the music community, Ultimate Ears has also partnered with Will Smith and Jada Pinkett Smith’s Westbrook Media digital content studio division. UE FITS is now featuring Jaden Smith in a campaign to fuse innovation, inclusivity and technology.
The earbuds happen to sound great too, and you can also customize your EQ settings if you want to get fancy. Battery life is approximately eight hours on one charge but the USB-C powered case will offer an extra 12 hours in case you need it. But really, these earphones are all about the fit—and though it may seem like a gimmick, the funky technology will give you a step-up in this department from your AirBuds, Galaxy Buds, Echo Buds or Pixel Buds.
