They’re just some adventurous, deeply loyal kids who love boating and swimming. But when the Pogues track down the treasure that cost John B’s father his life, their world will forever change. But the mystery is over. As a media outlet that has seen all 10 episodes of this new installment, Decider can confirm that Addison Rae is not in Outer Banks Season 2.

How Did Outer Banks Season 1 End?

Last season’s finale was a jumble of highs and lows. One of the highs? The Pogues did, in fact, find the treasure that cost Big John his life. But so did the nefarious Ward (Charles Esten) and his unhinged son Rafe (Drew Starkey). John B and Sarah Cameron tried to stop Sarah’s father and brother from taking the gold to the Bahamas, but they were too late. Though Ward and Rafe were left behind, the gold made its trip to the Caribbean. This confrontation ended with Rafe killing Sheriff Peterkin (Adina Porter).

Naturally, John B was blamed for this crime, a move that turned all of OBX against him. That’s the power of money, people. Most of “The Phantom” saw John B and Sarah avoiding the cops and anyone who wanted to turn in this alleged criminal. This cat-and-mouse game ended the way all things do in this show: on a boat.

John B and Sarah tried to take The Phantom to escape the Outer Banks. That’s when a tropical storm hit. John B told the cops over the radio that Ward was responsible for this small community’s many murders, and that’s one of the last things he said. The storm took out the boat, seemingly signaling the death of these teenagers. But John B and Sarah didn’t actually die. In the final moments of the season the couple was rescued by a passing cargo ship. Together they vowed to go to the Bahamas and search for the gold. Let’s get this second treasure hunt started.
